Coaching With Amanda
I help high-achieving women craft meaningful lives filled with the things that matter most to them. Leveraging soul-fueled goals, I help clients break free from hustle culture, burnout, and constant overwhelm. If you feel like you're constantly doing, but never really living, I'm glad you've landed here.

ABOUT AMANDA
I am the poster child for oldest daughter, former academically gifted kid, Enneagram 1 energy. As a recovering perfectionist and former chronic overfunctioner, I spent years checking off to do lists without ever feeling like I was gaining meaningful momentum towards the things that were most important to me. I kept telling myself I'd get around to it after this next project was complete, after I bought a house, after I got the raise. After, after, after. Until I realized that surplus of time and energy was never going to magically arrive and if there was going to be space in my life for the things that were most important to me, I was going to have to make it.

Now I help other high achieving women craft meaningful lives using soul-fueled goals. You can't do it all, but you can do the things that are most important to you - I would be honored to come alongside and help you get there.
coaching and counseling
what's the difference?
COACHING
Coaching focuses on your present circumstance and which direction you’d like to move forward. The goal is to help you achieve clarity about your vision, remove barriers to your success, advance the speed of your personal growth, and empower you to obtain your goals — both personally and professionally. While Coaching services can be offered by anyone (there is no specific license/certification or regulating body for coaches), my training as a Counselor gives me a strong solution-focused foundation to pull from in helping clients reach their goals. Coaching assumes you already have a baseline resiliency and ability to maintain your own safety. Coaching services are private, but not protected by the same privileged communication laws as counseling and cannot be billed to insurance.
COUNSELING
Counseling is holistic, addressing emotional and psychological issues, and often delving into the past to understand current behaviors and patterns. Counseling can only be provided by licensed clinicians (such as clinical mental health counselors, clinical social workers, and psychologists) and is regulated by a licensing Board for each profession. Counseling is confidential and the information a client shares in counseling is protected by laws about privileged communication. When a client meets the criteria for a diagnosis, the cost of counseling services can be billed to insurance.

What kind of goals do people
bring to coaching?
It would be impossible to list all the personal and professional goals we could potentially focus on in your coaching sessions, but here are some examples:
-
a busy helping professional who feels like all her time is spent doing her job or recovering from doing her job wants to figure out how to create time and energy for hobbies and other interests
-
an mid-career professional is bored in her current role and wants to make a change, but needs clarity in deciding on her next step
-
a mom feels overwhelmed by the demands of parenting three young children while managing the household and wants support in streamlining everything she has to do and remember
-
an individual who feels like their life is groundhog day - doing the same things over and over. they want to break out of their rut, but they aren't sure where to get started
-
an aspiring novelist is working on their first book and can't seem to make progress. they need help getting unstuck from their writer's block.
Can I do coaching and counseling at the same time?
Yes, but not both with me.

Plenty of my coaching clients also work with a therapist. Sometimes things even come up in coaching that a client can then take to therapy and delve deeper into how their past experiences reinforced patterns. However, if I'm your counselor, I cannot also be your coach and vice versa. If you already work with me in one capacity and want a referral for the other, let's talk and I'll be happy to connect you with someone.
If you know you want to work with me, but aren't sure if counseling or coaching best fits your goals, schedule your no-cost 20 minute discovery phone call and let's figure it out together.

Do I have to be a woman?
My coaching practice mainly focuses on the needs of women, but if you are non-binary, gender fluid, or male and want a space to work on your goals that emphasizes gentleness, kindness and compassion- you are welcome here.
